What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a modern way to straighten teeth using clear plastic aligners instead of metal wires. Each set is made just for you and gently moves your teeth into position over time.
For treatment to work as planned, aligners need to be worn around 22 hours a day and changed every 7 to 14 days, depending on the complexity of your case.
Adults and teens who want to align their teeth discreetly may be suited to Invisalign — whether teeth are crowded, spaced, or not meeting properly. Suitability, timeframes and results can only be determined at an in-person consultation.

We listen first. Your goals, concerns and dental history are discussed in a relaxed consultation, and we check whether clear aligners are appropriate for your case.
A digital scan and photographs replace messy impressions. These build an accurate 3D record of your teeth and bite.
We map the planned movement of each tooth and talk you through the sequence, the likely duration, the risks and the alternatives before you commit.
Your custom aligners arrive. You wear each set around 22 hours a day and change trays every 7 to 14 days, with reviews in person or remotely.
Teeth naturally drift back over time. Retainers are an essential, ongoing part of treatment — we fit yours and explain how to care for it.

Remote monitoring

We know some patients have very full calendars. Greenslopes Dental Studio has partnered with Dental Monitoring so you can send us photos of your teeth from home instead of attending the clinic for every review.
You’ll still be seen in person when your progress calls for it — remote reviews complement clinical appointments, they don’t replace them.

It’s the question we hear most. The honest answer is that it depends on your case — so we explain everything clearly, in writing, before treatment begins.

After your consultation you receive an itemised treatment plan with the total fee, the number of aligners and the expected duration. No estimates that quietly grow.

We offer third-party payment plans so treatment can be spread over time. Repayment amounts depend on your plan, and approval is determined by the finance provider.

Invisalign, answered honestly.
How long does Invisalign take?
It depends entirely on how much your teeth need to move. Simpler cases may take several months; more complex cases can run well over a year. Your dentist will give you an indicative timeframe once your plan is mapped, and wear time affects how closely you track to it.
How many hours a day do I need to wear them?
Around 22 hours a day — essentially all the time except when eating, drinking anything other than water, and cleaning your teeth. Trays are typically changed every 7 to 14 days depending on your case. Wearing them less than prescribed will slow or compromise your result.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe pressure or tenderness for the first day or two of each new tray rather than pain. Some people notice a temporary lisp while adjusting. If discomfort persists, let us know.
Am I suitable for Invisalign?
Clear aligners can address many cases of crowding, spacing and bite issues, but not all. Some cases are better treated with braces or need a specialist orthodontic opinion, and healthy teeth and gums are a prerequisite. An in-person assessment is the only way to know.
Will I need a retainer afterwards?
Yes. Teeth have a natural tendency to drift back towards their old position, so retainers are a permanent part of keeping your result. We’ll fit yours at the end of treatment and explain the wear schedule and replacement over time.
What are the risks?
As with any orthodontic treatment, possible issues include discomfort, gum irritation, tooth sensitivity, root resorption, changes to your bite, decay if oral hygiene slips, and relapse without regular wear. Treatment may also take longer than planned or need refinement. All risks relevant to your case are discussed before you consent.
Can I use my health fund or a payment plan?
Many funds contribute towards orthodontic items depending on your level of cover and annual limits — we can supply item numbers so you can confirm with your fund. Third-party payment plans are also available, subject to the provider’s eligibility criteria, approval and terms.
